Rental houses charge $600-$900 per day on the SRW-5500. The last 5 years budgets have dropped on production, wages, post production and Sony rental deck equipment in Southern California. The last 20 years in business, i have made some special prices on layoffs and mastering (that's right Steve) for short form clients and long term rentals. Look at my competitors websites - Low Rates, Free Delivery and a large inventory; Perhaps? Typically, the Free delivery is within a two mile radius and a half day rate if any has fine print. Many rental houses don't have any prices listed. Why? Then they get trapped into a pricing war. There large overhead: rent, employees, salaries video gear depreciation, new cost of post production acquistions, means one thing. Chances are you will pay double what a smaller one or two man deck rental company can deliver. So why do I charge $400 for a day on Sony SRW Deck rentals - becuase i can!
